Archer Knight welcomes 'fantastic opportunity' to expand its Americas business
Archer Knight : April 20, 2021
New appointments helping accelerate ambitious growth plans
Energy market intelligence specialist Archer Knight has announced yet another step forward in its ambitious expansion plans – with two senior appointments based in the US.
The Aberdeen-headquartered firm has engaged two leading energy industry figures to help grow its global client base and find new markets for its subscription-service platform.
Scott Mitchell, formerly Head of Americas Upstream Research at Wood Mackenzie, has joined the company as Director of Strategic Growth and will be based in Kansas. Meanwhile, Scott Munro, who has held senior leadership roles at McDermott International and Technip, takes on the role of Regional Director – Americas, and is based in Houston.
Archer Knight Co-Founder and Executive Director David Sheret said:
“We are really excited to be welcoming two highly capable energy industry leaders to the Archer Knight team. They will help us achieve our vision of becoming the world’s leading energy sector market intelligence provider.
“Scott Mitchell has extensive experience in market intelligence and transactions services, while Scott Munro brings senior leadership team experience from within two of the world’s leading contractors together with multi million project-capture and delivery knowledge.
“At Archer Knight, we already have several clients in the US and the Americas. These appointments will allow us to better serve their needs, develop more bespoke services for their region and create further US-based roles.”
The two roles will combine to help Archer Knight drive brand awareness in the US and the wider Americas region, and further develop the company’s Alliance Market Intelligence (AMi) subscription service. Subscribers gain granular insight on sectors including subsea oil & gas and offshore wind through bespoke reports and Flowline®, the software-as-a-service platform launched last year.
Scott Mitchell, whose career highlights have included appearing as an expert witness on energy policy for the US House of Representatives, said:
“I am delighted to be joining Archer Knight. As strategic growth director, I am looking forward to helping the company achieve its ambitions for its exciting subscription services and intelligence platform, helping clients target the most winnable business opportunities.”
Scott Munro said:
“Archer Knight’s impressive market intelligence business, giving subscribers a detailed real-time view of the market, is matched by its ambitions of growing to even greater heights. With my experience in this region, I believe there’s a fantastic opportunity for market penetration and growing the business across the Americas.”
The new US appointments come on the back of Archer Knight launching its new Asia Pacific venture at the start of April. Based in Singapore, the new entity will oversee all of Archer Knight’s operations in the region, including market intelligence provision and consultancy services.
David Sheret added:
“High-calibre appointments like these demonstrate the scale of our ambitions and show that Archer Knight is an attractive place to work. Both Scott Mitchell and Scott Munro bring board-level experience to the group. They hold outstanding reputations and have built strong networks in their field. They will help us deliver our strategic growth plans over the next few years.”
